Headstone Lawn Tennis Club

Stanley and family were members of Headstone Lawn Tennis Club from the 1920s. Photo evidence is from around 1926 and continues through to 1951 at the latest.  The  later photographs were taken by Basil – Stanley’s son.

Stanley’s photo contribution

Photos from mid 1920s.  Dated from the  appearance of Jean (born 1920) and Basil (born 1922) in several of the images. Images selected on the  basis of relevance to the club.

Stanley’s film contribution

The Headstone tennis club section of the 9.5mm films  is the largest single part of Stanley’s films.  Date is uncertain but around 1927/8  at a guess. Some rather dull fireworks section has been edited out.  This film can be found on you-tube:-

Basil’s photo contribution

These images are primarily captured from loose 120 roll film negatives.  These date from 1948 to 1951. Basil was demobbed  in May 1948 and rejoined the RAF at the start of 1952.
