Frank Appleyard

Frank Appleyard was Stanley’s elder brother born 16th April 1885 at HighHoyland Hall.  Frank’s parents were Arthur (died 1907) and Mary Ellen (Smith) who died in 1930.  A number of images have been identified showing Arthur Appleyard

Other earlier photos of Frank Appleyard are from 1907. Frank is back row centre in the following image at Austhorpe HallStanley Appleyard is to the left of Frank.  However, the person to the left of Stanley is unknown. It could be Arthur Appleyard, however this is unlikely as he died on the 6th  July 1907.

Sheffield Indexers web site provides the  above date and states the wedding took place at Wadsley, Sheffield in the  presence of Stanley Appleyard, Willie Johnson Warsop and Mary Alice Warsop.

Intriguingly, the 1911 census showing the Warsop residence at 258 St Philips Road, Sheffield.  Mary Alice Warsop appears twice – the first aged 53 the mother of Jennie Blanche, the second  aged 31 as Jennie Blanche’s sister.

No photos of Frank had been confirmed until Frank and his family appear outside 121 Harrow View in 1921:
